Designer biography:
My practice has long centered on the reinterpretation of cultural heritage in a contemporary context. After graduating from The Glasgow School of Art in 2012, I have dedicated over a decade to art education, honing my ability to extract visual and structural elements from historical artifacts, artistic heritage, and material culture. Through the fusion of metal and mixed media, I create a dialogue between traditional memory and contemporary aesthetics, elevating jewelry beyond purely decorative function.
Collection concept:
The "Body is a Moving Museum" series takes "the body as a cultural carrier" as its core idea. I reinterpret museum objects, removing them from static display and turning them into wearable, interactive contemporary jewellery. Cultural relics are no longer merely observed, but become a medium through which the body takes part in storytelling. The work explores shifts between collection and ownership, past and present. When relic forms are worn on the body, it becomes a mobile display carrying memory and culture, and the act of wearing turns into everyday exhibition.
