ROMANIAN JEWELRY WEEK TIMIȘOARA 2023

Romanian Jewelry Week presents a special edition between June 30 and July 2, 2023 in collaboration with ISHO Timișoara and with the support of Banca Transilvania, through an international exhibition with approximately 50 designers and invited collectives from Romania and around the world. The public in Timișoara will have the opportunity to participate in an extensive program of exhibitions, guided tours, conferences, screenings and workshops dedicated to the field of jewelry as a distinct art form. Romanian Jewelry Week Timișoara is a large-scale project intended for the Timișoara - European Capital of Culture 2023 program, with the potential of a recurring event in the future.

The Assamblage Association continues the promotion of national and international designer jewelry in the European capital of culture, opening the Romanian Jewelry Week Contemporary Jewelry Fair on Friday, June 30 at 4:00 p.m. at ISHO Timișoara - Take Ionescu Boulevard no. 46C. More than 500 pieces created by designers from Romania, Belgium, Greece, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Hungary, South Korea, Iran, Canada and many others will be exhibited. Created by entrepreneur Ovidiu Şandor through Mulberry Development, ISHO was designed to become a landmark of tomorrow's Timisoara. A special emphasis is placed on the integral character of the complex, thought to include, apart from the homes and offices, quality public spaces, as well as services and facilities that will create the most modern and qualitative neighborhood of Timisoara.

Along with carefully curated jewelry, Assamblage pays tribute to the city of Timișoara through the exhibition "Detaliul Secession - Timișoara", which will present the series of facades and ornaments painted in watercolor that form the basis of the album of the same name, signed by Maria Poștea and Bogdan Gărgăriță, the founders Intaglio. Also, during the event, there will be a screening dedicated to the international film festival inspired by art jewelry - SMCK on Reel. Under the theme "Civilization Rebooted", the festival reflects on today's most pressing issues, such as climate change, environmental pollution, war, fear, censorship and propaganda on the one hand, and recycling, revival, social justice, new values and the new aesthetics in art and design, on the other hand.

Detaliul Secession - Timișoara - Editura Intaglio

"Jewelry and the creative act are, more than ever, a communication vehicle for changing ideas, for messages addressed to a world in intercommunication and connection. The creative industry, this extraordinary invention, is actually the decision of those trained to express themselves creatively and not stop with their message at the border between the world and their own workshop. Leonardo da Vinci's idea of the world seen as an extension of the artist's studio becomes more present than ever."

- David Sandu, Curator Romanian Jewelry Week
