Tetiana Chorna - Ukraine
Tetiana Chorna
Designer biography:
Tetyana Chorna is a Ukrainian conceptual jewelry artist working since 2010. Her practice explores jewelry as a non-verbal language—objects that carry emotion, thought, and meaning beyond decoration. She seeks to preserve sensuality within a rational world, creating pieces that function as both adornment and art. Since 2022, her work has focused on drawing international attention to Russia's war against Ukraine. She has participated in Romanian Jewelry Week (2022–2025), Autor (2023–2025), HANDWERK & DESIGN Munich (2024–2025), and major group exhibitions in Kyiv.
Collection concept:
Flower from the Ashes
I live and work in Ukraine. This collection explores how war quietly becomes part of everyday life, and how memory, hope, and new meanings emerge even among ruins. The jewelry combines flowers cast from real plants using metal from spent bullet casings with the casings themselves, transformed into tiny vases for living flowers. These works reflect life's remarkable ability to continue where it was meant to be destroyed.
