Konstanze Prechtl
Designer biography:
Konstanze Prechtl (*1986, Salzburg) is a Vienna-based artist working across contemporary jewellery and sculpture. She studied jewellery design at Herbststrasse in Vienna and Applied Art and Design at Hochschule Düsseldorf, including a semester at Sint Lucas Antwerpen. Her work explores perception, self-representation, and material transformation through polished metal, textile, and powder-coated surfaces. Precise yet playful, her pieces blur the boundary between adornment and object. She has received several awards, including the Grand Prix at the Legnica SILVER Festival.
Collection concept
This collection brings together a series of works exploring perception, self-image, and transformation through geometric forms and reflective surfaces. Cube-like elements shift in scale and colour, forming gradual transitions between structure and gradient. Mirror surfaces return the viewer’s gaze as a fragile, shifting image. Engraved steel pieces, coated with translucent layers, move between revealing and concealing. Across the works, precision and distortion remain in tension, as adornment becomes a space of instability between body, image, and object.
