Designer biography:

Daniela is a Bulgarian designer.  She studied Fashion Design at the National University of Arts in Bucharest. Her practice is rooted in an ongoing exploration of form, material, and surface, moving between fashion and object-making. Working primarily with air-dry clay, resin, and steel, she creates jewelry that investigates the relationship between the body and constructed aesthetics. Her pieces function as both adornment and intervention, using material contrast to question ideas of beauty, control, and transformation. With a background in fashion, she approaches jewelry as an essential element in shaping the visual and conceptual impact of the body, treating it not as decoration, but as a critical extension of it.

Collection concept

"Am I aesthetically pleasing?" examines the normalization of aesthetic surgery and the erosion of authenticity in contemporary beauty culture. Faces become standardized, shaped by ideals rather than individual identity. The pieces echo surgical intervention through fractured forms and reconstructed volumes, bound with metal as both scar and ornament. Air-dry clay embodies the imperfect, vulnerable body, while epoxy resin is sanded to a matte, skin-like surface, evoking treated flesh rather than polished artifice. Steel elements reference clinical tools, capturing the tension between natural and constructed identity. The collection reflects on the body as a site of modification, where repair and beautification converge—questioning whether perfection is ever truly attainable, or simply imposed.
