Designer biography:
I am a contemporary jewelry artist and metal practitioner based in Paju, Korea, working between studio practice, exhibition, and research. My work investigates the relationship between object, body, and perception, focusing on how jewelry operates not as a fixed form but as a condition that emerges through engagement. Alongside making, I develop a theoretical framework that repositions wearing as an active structure rather than a passive state. Through both material experimentation and writing, I explore how objects shift between states, becoming wearable only under specific conditions.
Collection concept:
A flexible structure composed of layered elements shifts between tension and release. Form is continuously reconfigured through force, proximity, and interaction. As the work is engaged, its configuration changes, producing varying densities and directional flows. Layers press, separate, and reorganize, forming unstable yet coherent relationships in space. A corroded metal element anchors the structure, marking time as both constraint and endurance. Within this rigid component, a pin is concealed and can be extracted through intervention, allowing the work to enter into relation with the body. Overlap is understood as fluctuation, where form emerges through ongoing negotiation.
