Designer biography:
Tong Wu is a metal artist and silversmith advancing innovative setting systems tension, compression fit and micro mechanical interlocks across sculptural silverware and experimental tabletop works.
Collection concept:
The design of this tableware comes from the shape of spears, shields and crowns. Initially the conventional form of tableware was redefined and questioned and then combined with the aesthetics of spears, shields and crowns. Their unique aesthetic concept and practicalities were refined and new design features created. Functionally, this set of cutlery is not a traditional hand held cutlery, but a finger-sleeve type. The weight of each piece of cutlery is carefully controlled, and the sizing divided into sets of large, medium and small.
