Designer biography:

Ania Sikorska is a Polish-born artist currently living and working in Scotland. She earned a Master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Gdańsk and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Jewellery Arts and Technology from City of Glasgow College. In 2023, she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Jewellery and Silversmithing from the Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh. Although she is a recent graduate and an emerging jeweller, Ania has already had the opportunity to showcase her work at several prestigious events, including New Designers in London (2023), New Designers by Diana Porter in Bristol (2023), Elements: Festival of Jewellery, Silver and Gold in Edinburgh (2023), and Dazzle London (2024).

Collection concept:

This is my graduate collection titled "Archē" (meaning "first principle"). The collection is inspired by the mathematical properties found in nature. The shapes and patterns I created reflect the processes of growth and movement, featuring elements such as lamellas, spirals, and waves as the core axis of the entire collection. As I am fascinated by new technologies, I used 3D-printed nylon to produce all the pieces in this series. I then hand-dyed these elements and combined them with silver components that I crafted using traditional techniques.  At this very moment, this collection consists mainly of vibrant and oversized earrings; but it will be developed in the near future.
