Collection concept: I AM NOT FROM HERE: Jewelry Exploring the Feelings of Migrants
There is a silent and intimate revolution carried in the footsteps of the migrant.
He cannot shout where he comes from — he must adapt to new codes.
Fear, challenge, wonder, sadness, loneliness, struggle.
A migrant is meant to be a fighter — to protect the core of their identity.
Through these five jewels, I explore five emotional landscapes that guide the migrant in reimagining themselves without losing their center.
Borders — Pendant (Silver, Brass, Rutile quartz)
Where does a border begin — on the map, or in the mind?
Is it a line, or a wall we carry within us?
Who draws it, and who dares to cross it?
Can a thread of metal hold the weight of invisible lines?
Motherland — Pin (Silver and Brass)
What does it mean to belong?
Is the motherland a place — or a memory that fades in translation?
Does it remain under the skin, even when you no longer speak its language?
Can you carry it with you, or must you leave it behind?
The Right to Bloom — Pin (Silver and Brass, Rutile quartz)
Do we all have the right to bloom, even in foreign soil?
What if the sun doesn’t rise the same way here?
Can resilience grow where roots are torn?
And if I blossom, will they still call me out of place?
Where’s My Home? — Earrings (Silver, Brass, Rutile quartz)
Is home where you sleep, or where you're missed?
Can you build it from fragments — a scent, a voice, a scar?
Do both sides of your face look in different directions now?
Will home ever stop feeling like a question?
I Am Not From Here — Ring (Silver, Brass, Rutile quartz)
If I’m not from here, then where am I from now?
Can this circle hold both exile and belonging?
Is identity fixed — or forged in movement?
Can I wear my in-betweenness with pride
