Designer biography:
Willy Van Der Velde started as a musician and evolved into a designer of light objects, furniture, jewellery and wearable pieces for fashion shows. Selected for Schmuck 2008 he exhibited worldwide; initially via 5 years of mobile exhibitions in Munich during Schmuck. Then a ten-year hiatus. Van Der Velde started up again in 2023. Bought a house with a large plot of land and is currently renovating and refurbishing it. And now, above all: back to jewellery, music, video, and motorcycles. And back to global exhibitions And continuing to work with reclaimed materials, just like in the early 1980s.
Collection concept:
As always, the jewellery represents a quest to bring materials together; constantly experimenting with reclaimed materials, forms and visual language.
