Designer biography:
I am a jewelry designer and founder of MarkoSoli, a family brand based in Lviv, Ukraine. The brand was established by my grandparents over 20 years ago, later continued by my parents, and today I develop it as a contemporary design practice with its own full-cycle production. My work engages with Ukrainian cultural codes — particularly architecture and symbolic forms that shape the visual language of the city. I reinterpret these references into contemporary jewelry, focusing on sculptural clarity, precision of form, and pieces that feel both personal and enduring.
Collection concept:
This collection is inspired by architectural details of Lviv — ornamental fragments, reliefs, and forms found on historic facades. The lion, a recurring symbol of my city, becomes the central element of the collection — not as a literal motif, but as a sculptural presence that carries a sense of strength, protection, and continuity. I reinterpret these elements as contemporary jewelry, preserving their character while shifting them into a new context. The pieces combine structured metal forms with organic materials such as baroque pearls and natural stones, creating a balance between stability and movement. Through this collection, I explore how cultural memory can exist within a personal space — not as decoration, but as a continuation of identity.
