Designer biography:
Jennifer Wells, MFA, in Metalsmithing & Jewelry Design. She has completed artist-in- residencies at: Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Pocosin Arts, the Jentel Foundation and participated in the Smitten Residency. As an educator, she currently teaches with Le Arti Orafe in Florence, Italy and has taught for and been a visiting Artist at Universities throughout the U.S and in Italy. In recent years she has curated multiple international exhibitions focused on jewelry and enameling. Her works are in the collections of the Enamel Arts Foundation, Racine Museum, All Russian Museum of Decorative Arts, Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Yale University Art Gallery, Crocker Art Museum and Private Collections.

The Line Continues Collection
Chaos and Containment. This Collection is inspired by life, in all its chaos and beauty, it discusses the layers of our existence. The line used in each piece references ourselves as we are creating our lives, making choices, witnessing those choices unfold and continuing on our path. The incorporation of a vessel into pieces speaks to the need that each of us may have, to at times stay closed to the world, to not show ourselves, be it out of fear or the need for self-preservation. To this conversation the silver brings its unarguable intrinsic value, as do each of us.
The choice to work in a precious material is important In all the life chaos, I hope that each person will find their own line and the beauty that accompanies it. the line found throughout my work, travels across various mediums. Inspired by my natural and man made environments and the textures and patterns found within each. The line, is representative of our course in life. Each of us, as we are sewing the assemblage of our life together, are at the same moment creating the line that forms us and our course. Holding us together, pulling us along in this life, and as in life there are moments where the line ends and begins again. You may think on this as a pause, a breath, a moment of change.
