Jantra Junpitakchai
Designer biography:
Jantra Junpitakchai (Jantra J.) is a Thai jewelry designer with a PhD in Design from Silpakorn University. Her work is driven by a profound passion for Materiality, focusing on elevating existing resources through innovative craftsmanship. Her research established the framework of 'Spiritual Technology', integrating cultural anthropology with multi-sensory design. Jantra’s practice extends beyond aesthetics, incorporating Scent (Olfactory) and Tactile elements to trigger emotional healing. With over a decade of experience, she redefines jewelry as a functional catalyst for mindfulness, bridging the gap between traditional Thai wisdom and contemporary well-being.
Collection concept:
'Aesthetic of Healing' reimagines jewelry as 'Spiritual Technology', transforming the traditional Pendulum into a functional interface for emotional sanctuary. Grounded in PhD research, this collection explores 'Spiritual Aesthetics'—the transition from sacred objects to wearable instruments that facilitate mindfulness. By integrating precision-engineered silver with bio-based materials, each piece serves as a medium for 'Internal Resonance', amplifying the connection between the subconscious and physical form. These talismans employ the 'Function of Assembly' to engage the wearer in a meditative ritual. This work proposes a new design paradigm where jewelry functions as a catalyst for spiritual alignment and psychological well-being.
