Designer biography:

Işıl Özçam is the founder of Dialogue of Forms. She graduated with a degree in Interior Architecture and began studying jewellery in 2016, developing her practice through a wide range of traditional and contemporary techniques. This ongoing exploration has shaped her sensitivity to material, process, and form. Viewing jewellery as a means of expression, she explores the poetic tension between digital processes and the tactile intelligence of making. Inspired by the textures, morphologies and irregularities found in nature and living organisms, her work investigates themes of flow, transformation, and variability. For her, form is never a fixed outcome but a process of becoming. She has participated in national and international exhibitions.

Collection concept

In my Echoes of Matter collection, I sought to establish a connection between form and process. Time often shapes things by leaving marks on their surfaces. Through oxidation, time becomes visible; patinated surfaces become memories, texture becomes touch, and each mark reflects an evolving relationship between the wearer and the material. Organic curves, eroded and pigment-applied textures, and layered surfaces blur the boundaries between what once was and what exists today. These pieces bear surface traces of the material's life cycle, revealing the ongoing dialogue between matter and time. Here, form is understood not as a fixed outcome but as an ongoing process of becoming. Rather than resisting change, these works embrace it, celebrate growth, imperfection, and the relationships those develop between people, materials, and time, just like it happens in nature.
