Designer biography:
Francesca Cecamore is a narrative jewellery & mixed-media artist, wonder-drifter and trans- material storyteller into electronic music & Fluxus. She captures magic in the mundane through wearable art made of found objects & personal materials, helping people bring their own tales to life. This practice was born with her body of work "Lost Labour Love" made from objects collected while emptying her parents' home after their passing. Life, it's end & social issues are key themes. She explores game design & interactive exhibitions as she believes in play, drift & art as ways to marvel in everyday life & to stay sane through hardship. In her own words: "Life is a Wonder-drift"
Collection concept:
“The Secrets We Keep” This collection is an offshoot of the original “Lost Labour Love” a project / body of work on grief metabolisation born while clearing out the artist's parents’ home after their passing; a descent process through layers of materials & life, during which each object, photo or note was picked up, considered & examined, sometimes with surprise or wonder. In these works, intimate fragments of text are hidden beneath shards of sparkling heirloom crystal glasses, blurring private truths & personal choices, exploring the delicate relationship between revelation & concealment where afterward revelation makes way to reflection & 'what-ifs'.
