Designer biography:

Carla Becerra is a Textile and Jewelry Designer based in Buenos Aires. Her artistry is deeply rooted in the intricate details she observes in textiles, nature, and even in the subtle nuances of simple actions, which she transforms into metal. This fusion creates pieces that are not only visually striking but also rich in texture and meaning, striving to immortalize the fleeting and the ephemeral while preserving the delicate beauty of the intangible. Her profound understanding of textile art enables her to merge the tactile qualities of fabric with the permanence of metal. This fusion creates pieces that are not only visually striking but also rich in texture and meaning, striving to immortalize the fleeting and the ephemeral while preserving the delicate beauty of the intangible.

Collection concept:

Stuck in a moment

This collection engages with that fleeting moment in which time seems to pause and form becomes still. As a textile & jewelry designer, I am drawn to the contrast between fabric and metal: their textures, their behaviors, and the way they inhabit space. Textiles are defined by movement — fluid, adaptable, constantly reshaped by the surfaces they rest upon. Their form is never fixed, but instead responds to gravity, context, and touch. Metal, on the other hand, resists this transformation. It remains still, holding its shape, existing in quiet opposition to the dynamism of fabric. In this collection, each textile moment is captured and translated into metal, as if petrified in a single instant. What we see is only that frozen form — a trace of something that once moved freely. Its previous state becomes unknown, inaccessible. This gesture mirrors a broader contemporary condition. In an image-saturated culture — shaped by platforms — experience is often reduced to isolated moments, consumed without context or duration. Like these pieces, what we see is a fragment: visually complete, yet narratively unresolved. We remain, both as viewers and participants, suspended within the instant — stuck in a moment.
