Designer biography:
Andreea Tölgyi, the creator of the jewelry, is a visual artist. She studied at the University of Art and Design “Ion Andreescu” in Cluj-Napoca, in the Ceramics–Glass–Metal Department. As long as she can remember, she has loved to create. Her first love was modeling clay, the delicate volumes in contrast with raw textures. “I loved to create, to feel the material, to understand it, to be able to give life to a piece that carries behind it a meaning, a feeling, a thought, a philosophy. These are priceless to me.” In 2007, after completing her studies, she attended a Murano glassworking course in Italy with master Mauro Pucitelli. From that moment on, fascinated by this craft, she knew she wanted her own glass studio, and two years later she succeeded in fulfilling her dream. Many years have passed since then, and her passion for creating glass jewelry has grown and developed into a constant search for beauty and authenticity. Her main source of inspiration is nature. For this reason, you will discover that the jewelry she creates is rooted in natural forms that connect and flow gently and organically.
Collection concept:
In Becoming, I dwell on the quiet moment before opening , that fragile instant when something is about to begin. I work glass directly in the flame, hand-shaping Murano and borosilicate glass. The forms grow from a stylized vegetal structure, almost like an organic column. The ivory leaves are arranged in pairs and connected by a central stem, their veins carefully drawn with fine glass lines. They hold a calm, grounded presence, as if they already belong to the world. They are rhythmic and repeated, like a growth that knows its direction. Between them appear translucent green buds, nearly weightless. At times they seem filled with sap, at others airy and hollow, like a breath captured inside a drop. They are not yet flowers. They are a pause. Within them lies the promise of a beginning, that silent point where life gathers before unfolding. The meeting of drawn ivory and deep green creates a delicate tension between structure and fluidity, between contour and interior. Glass allows me to work with both strength and fragility: it can be solid and precise, yet thin, transparent, and vulnerable. For me, this collection speaks about trust in the process, in rhythm, and in every new beginning born from a single breath.
