Anwar Alajmi - Saudi Metalsmith Collective
Anwar Alajmi
Designer biography:
I am a jewelry designer and metalsmith exploring the relationship between heritage, identity, and contemporary craftsmanship through handcrafted jewelry. Inspired by cultural narratives, the natural world, and the contrasts that exist between tradition and modernity, I create pieces that invite reflection and connection. Each work begins with a story and evolves through careful experimentation with materials, form, and technique. By combining traditional metalsmithing processes with a contemporary design language, I transform personal and collective memories into wearable objects. My practice celebrates the beauty of craftsmanship, where every detail is intentionally made and every piece carries its own narrative.
Collection concept:
My work draws inspiration from the life of the Bedouin, reflecting the values, traditions, and deep connection to the desert that have shaped generations. Through contemporary jewelry, I reinterpret these narratives using modern forms and handcrafted techniques, creating pieces that honor cultural heritage while expressing it through a fresh and evolving perspective.
