Finished his doctoral studies at the Sorbonne in Paris (2013), established his studio (2009) & since then has been developing material & design research combining a variety of disciplines. His main challenge is to combine & connect material technologies used in jewellery & metalwork with clothing & textile technologies, in order to allow each material to integrate organically into the other, creating a single unit with a new & unique material identity.
Collection concept:
Goren’s research practice centres on the fusion of soft & hard materials, particularly textiles & metals. Fabrics are combined with metals in ways that generate new hybrid materials, often coated in gold & embedded within intricate metal structures these form composite materials that blur the line between disciplines Pieces do not belong solely to textile art or metalwork, they exist as a 3rd material language, challenging conventions & proposing alternative aesthetic logic. This fusion creates unexpected materials with entirely new tactile & visual identities. Goren explores the tension & dialogue between textile techniques rooted in softness, flexibility & traditional handcraft alongside metalworking involving structure, resistance & permanence.
