Collection concept:

The Cathedral of Freedom – The Circle of Life This medallion illustrates the vision of Plečnik's Cathedral of Freedom, which remains one of his most significant yet unrealized architectural masterpieces. Intended as a temple of democracy located in Tivoli Park, it was designed to align perfectly with the Town Hall and the Ljubljana Castle. The heart of the building was to be a central circular hall surrounded by a colonnade. The concept of the medallion evolved as a direct analogy to Plečnik’s original floor plan. The red jasper represents the circular heart, embraced by a golden colonnade, which can also be interpreted as the circle of life. Different eras, distinct characteristics, and diverse shapes, yet all woven into a harmonious rhythm, forming a whole that begins here and never truly ends.
