Designer biography:
Maha Alshaibani is a Saudi jewelry designer and founder of Shamsa Jewellery. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, she creates contemporary jewelry inspired by Saudi cultural heritage. Her work reinterprets historical symbols, architecture, and traditional motifs into artistic pieces that bridge the past and the present. Through her practice, she seeks to preserve cultural memory and express Saudi identity in a contemporary visual language.
Collection concept:
Memory of Place is a contemporary jewelry collection inspired by the archaeological heritage of Al- Faw. Drawing from ancient architecture, inscriptions, and cultural memory, the collection transforms historical narratives into wearable works of art. Crafted in silver, copper, and other materials, the pieces explore the relationship between material, memory, and identity, presenting Saudi heritage through a contemporary artistic perspective.
