Designer biography:

The International Amber Association (IAA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 in Gdańsk, Poland, bringing together the global amber community. Today, it unites nearly 300 members from over 35 countries, including artists, designers, researchers, collectors, manufacturers, traders, museums, and cultural institutions.

The IAA is dedicated to promoting Baltic amber through education, scientific research, cultural initiatives, exhibitions, publications, and international cooperation. An important part of the IAA’s mission is supporting contemporary amber art. The IAA Gallery in Gdańsk presents at least three exhibitions each year, showcasing outstanding contemporary jewellery and objects created by both established and emerging artists from around the world.

The featured artists in the IAA Contemporary Amber Jewellery Collection are creators whose works have been showcased in exhibitions organized at the IAA Gallery in Gdańsk, representing diverse approaches to contemporary jewellery design and artistic interpretations of Baltic amber.

This unique collection has been developed over many years through the IAA’s support of international jewellery competitions. As part of its awards programme, the Association provides artists with Baltic amber and the opportunity to present their works at the IAA Gallery. Following each exhibition, one selected artwork becomes part of the IAA Collection, creating a growing archive of contemporary amber jewellery and artistic excellence.

The collection reflects the evolution of contemporary amber art and documents the creativity of jewellery artists whose works combine innovation, craftsmanship, and the unique beauty of Baltic amber.
