Designer biography:
Ana Petrova is a Bulgarian designer who creates sculptured jewellery with minimal ergonomics and bold volumes. She uses primarily leather, upcycling unwanted remnants from local businesses. Holding diplomas of ceramics and pedagogy, she mixes traditional methods from pottery and leathercraft to create large provocative rings – light but durable pieces. Ana's works have earned several awards from jewellery forums like Milano Jewellery Week and Inflow Expo. Always excited to highlight the material's great resilience and capacity for transformations in her designs, Ana brings new value to overlooked materials, continuing the conversation about what we consider precious in modern jewellery.
Collection concept
'In Bloom' is a selection of sculptural jewellery that explores the link between the evolution in flora and human development. It captures my fascination with plants' architecture and their systems – designed for efficiency and adaptability, so similar to humans' ability to survive and thrive. Working with leather allows me to hand-build forms that feel alive and are resilient. Moulding the material under pressure adds meaning to the main idea – we all bloom and mature through diversity. The collection reimagines natural shapes with confidence; each piece has bold organic individuality and invites the wearer to reflect on their own growth, expressing their unique personality.
