Designer biography:
Marie Jianu is a Romanian jewelry artist. A graduate in International Economic Relations (2004), she began studying jewelry in 2012 at Assamblage School with David Sandu and Andreia Gabriela Popescu. Since 2020, she has mastered Chasing and Repoussé under Fabrizio Acquafresca, crafting intricate designs in fine silver. Her fully handcrafted pieces explore metal plasticity, through forms, textures and volumes. She has exhibited at Romanian Jewelry Week (2020–2024) and Milano Jewelry Week (2024).
Collection concept: Black Lotus Collection
This collection is inspired by the black lotus flower, a symbol of power, rebirth, and mystery. Black is linked to the unknown and the hidden depths within us. The black lotus invites introspection and encourages us to embrace the parts of ourselves often kept in shadow. Growing from muddy waters, the lotus remains untouched by dirt, embodying the strength to rise above challenges and stay untainted by negativity. It symbolizes inner power, renewal, and the pursuit of light—revealing the beauty and potential within every struggle. It reminds us to stand tall and bloom in the light, even in contrast to the darkness and uncertainty of the world.
