Louisa Scott - North Ireland
Louisa Scott
Designer biography:
Irish born jeweller and adventurer, Louisa sees jewellery as a bridge between soul, story, and human expression that resonates through culture and time. Working predominantly in silver and gold, she blends traditional skills and modern day techniques, incorporating intricate engravings, colourful gemstones and lustrous pearls to create high quality jewellery to be worn over a lifetime. Her designs are born from a love of adventure, inspired by ancient cultures and the natural world. She loves the hands-on, physical nature of making—juxtaposing precision with roughness, embracing the raw unrefined aspects of materials and process, and transforming them into something polished and meaningful.
Collection concept:
Ancient Islands, a collection inspired by two places that have shaped both my life and creative practice: Ireland, where I was born and now work, and Sri Lanka, where I spent a transformative period living and working in the gem trade. Though distinct in geography and culture, both are deep-rooted with tradition, wild landscapes, and a rich history of symbolic design. I wanted to explore how my Celtic heritage and love of Ancient Jewellery could sit alongside the visual and spiritual influences I found in Sri Lanka. What unfolded was a series of pieces that connect these two worlds through form, motif, and material, bringing together echoes of the past in contemporary, wearable jewellery.
