Ines Reynoso - Argentina/Chile
Ines Reynoso
Designer biography:
After a Graphic Designer degree, Ines moved to Chile where she studied metalsmithing with many renowned jewellers. She decided to focus her work in techniques such as Japanese lacquer, casting in cuttlefish, Mokume Gane, Keum Boo, Kintsugi and lost-wax casting. Already in 2009 she started a new project called “Contemporary School of Jewelry Raggo, Correa and Reynoso” where she worked also as a professor. In 2013 she set up her own studio called IRO Studio. Inés continues teaching and organizing workshops with the idea of offering her students and colleagues training experiences. She is actively participating in exhibitions, nationally and internationally as a jewelry artist. In recent years her work has focused basically on the Keum boo and Japanese lacquer techniques both for its beauty and for the great emotional content it carries within.
Collection concept:
After many years researching and working with Keum-Boo and Japanese lacquer techniques, I did two different collections which I would like to show. Life is made up of fragments, experiences and their memories. I discovered new ways in addition to the conceptual meaning that these ancient techniques have been able to leave their legacy over the years., which I transformed into a language that I share in who I am and what I do. The jewelry pieces are characterized by their sculptural volume, organic shapes and textures inspired by nature, with delicate or rustic shapes showing that everything that happens in life, beautiful or not, can be portrayed in art.
