Armine Harutyunyan - Armenia
Armine Harutyunyan
Designer biography:
I am a jewelry designer, living and creating in the heart of Armenia. With a foundation in architecture, my journey into the world of silversmithing began in 2016 - a path that has captured my spirit ever since. Working directly with silver sheet and wire I cut, solder and polish each piece by hand, reveling in the tactile conquest of metal and the natural, earthy allure of a dark patina. Over the past years, I’ve embarked on an exhilarating adventure, showcasing my work in exhibitions across Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Georgia. In 2021, this journey culminated in a personal exhibition. Last year, I had the privilege of participating in Artistar Jewels in Milan, which was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the international jewelry community. I’m excited to continue sharing my work and exploring new perspectives through events like Romanian Jewelry Week.
Collection concept: "Voices of My Ancestors"
As a mature woman, I often find myself surrounded by uncertainty - the world, my country, and the fragile nature of life. In these moments, I seek strength from my ancestors. I imagine a crowd standing behind me - those who endured hardships and triumphs so I could stand here today. Their presence offers support and reminds me of my responsibility to continue our bloodline. This collection is my tribute to them - a reflection of their presence in my life. Their faces are etched in my memory, just as the old coins I use in these pieces carry echoes of the past. Turquoise and lapis protect from the evil eye, while garnet symbolizes resilience. Through these creations, I give form to their voices - a reminder that I am never truly alone.
