Designer biography:
Alessia Prati is an Italian artist born in 1992. After specialising in contemporary jewellery at Alchimia, Florence and a residency experience in Hong Kong, she founded Breccia Studio in Piacenza, also her brand. Her work often addresses social and political themes, advocating self-acceptance and empowerment. Each piece is meant to be experienced as a living entity, capable of evoking reflection on identity and the complexity of human existence. Prati's creative process follows an almost unconscious flow, where she forges and weaves tiny elements with meditative precision, transforming humble materials into unusual and expressive forms. Her unique artistic vision has gained international recognition through exhibitions, public talks and workshops.
Collection concept:
Pieces come from Sýn, a body of work that explores emergence of authentic self in contrast to societal norms, jewellery as a medium for silent, embodied storytelling. Each piece is crafted through a slow, meditative process in which the material is forged through restless cutting, hammering, shaping and then further transfigured with fire, patinas and burnishing. Each piece comes alive by assembly, fused together to form unique, hybrid objects. These works give shape to 'things unsaid' - emotions, memories and identities that resist verbal expression. Tactile companions, protective shields and symbols of personal strength. Through texture, weight and sound, Sýn invites intimate interaction offering a form of active, material-based resistance.
