Vivienne Varay is an artist with a background in contemporary jewelry. She received her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia while studying under Mary Hallam Pearse and Lola Brooks. Her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions at TAG Gallery in Los Angeles, Brooklyn Metal Works, and The Jewelry Library in New York. She currently works in a private space in Eastern Washington focusing her time on the creation of one-of-a-kind pieces.

Collection Concept:

I am piecing together white rabbit pelts collected from my past, inserting each form that I create with hundreds of pins and needles. Through the act of cutting, twisting, and binding I am creating objects of adornment about my personal struggles with intimacy and anxiety. Inspired by my experiences with love and loss, this work deals with my obsession to resolve the conflict I associate with my past relationships, along with the materials and the emotions associated to them.
