Biography:

Otilia Fiastru is a jewellery and graphic designer. She graduated The National University of Architecture and Urbanism ”Ion Mincu” in 2002 and is graphic designer since 2001. Between 2001 - 2012 worked as art director for advertising agencies and in cultural projects she did graphic design for The National Museum of Art, The National Center of Dance Bucharest and for The National Museum of Contemporary Art, Salonul de Proiecte. She worked in print and book design of different genre and styles, graphic novel, art book and exhibition and performance materials.

In 2013 she founded the contemporary jewellery brand Oval and works as designer and maker. Oval creations were distinguished with MNAC Award in Autor Contemporary Jewellery Fair 2014 and with The Special Accessory Design Award during IFS 2016, London Fashion Week.

Collection Concept: CHANCE

”CHANCE” is a series of agents of change, commonly known as ”pedants” or ”charms”: ”STABILOPOD”, ”SPACE”, ”I”, ”DROP”, ”VISUS”, ”RESORT”, ”VICTRIX”, ”SHIT”.

Agents of the series are subtle hints of the blind change, that instance when you need something good to happen to you, but you don’t know precisely what. Oval questions and shapes luck through its representation of some indicators of chance. Keep your favourite agent of change and hope for the good. Every object is in itself a step towards better. All agents come separately in flat form and 14k shiny yellow gold.
