Biography:

Nicole Jacquard is currently a Professor and Area Coordinator of the Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design Program at Indiana University. She received her BA from Indiana University in 1991 and her first MFA in 1994 from The University of Michigan. While on a Fulbright Fellowship in Australia she received her second MFA from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in 1995. In 2001 she returned to RMIT University and completed her Ph.D. in Fine Arts in 2004. Her doctoral research focused on integrating Computer-Aided Design, Computer-Aided Machining, and Rapid Prototyping & Machining (CAD, CAM, RP&M) within a contemporary studio practice. Jacquard was awarded a second Fulbright in 2017-18 to Scotland where her research focused on the incorporation of augmented reality into her work.

Nicole was President of the Society of North American Goldsmiths serving two terms from 2015 - 17, and from 2017- 19. She has had ten solo exhibitions and participated in over 100 invitational/juried exhibitions in the USA, Europe, Asia + Australia. Her work is in the collection of the International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemet Hungary, and the Riga Porcelain Museum in Riga, Latvia. Nicole has presented over 45 lectures on her work + and has had papers accepted to present at conferences in the UK, Australia, China, + the USA. Her work is published in over 65 of books, catalogues + websites, and her two solo catalogues, Personal Objects : Personal Spaces Catalogue printed in 07, and her self-titled catalogue, Nicole Jacquard, from 05, are both available through Charon Kransen Arts.
