I draw my inspiration from natural forms and my heritage, using elements of Romanian point lace technique to create intricately laced three-dimensional textile miniature sculptures of organic, yet abstract shapes. The technique I developed implies ‘’casting” different prefabricated objects into an intricate net of delicate meticulously crocheted cords “glued” together by a dense web of stitches, then adding several new layers of cords to add stiffness to the piece, as well as depth of surface. All the objects are made of polyester and nylon thread, beads, plastic straws and stainless steel and have been created during the past 2 years, between the second half of 2018 and now.
