Designer biography:

Valeria studied Industrial Design at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. In 2016, she founded Candor Jewelry, creating pieces like neo-amulets that condense identity, ethics, and materiality. Her approach proposes contemporary jewelry that is versatile and comfortable, blending industry and craftsmanship while exploring new forms of value and circulation. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Visual Anthropology, researching “Recicla con Candor,” based on urban mining for recycled raw materials. She has exhibited in France and the U.S., participates in fairs in Peru, and is a professor at the Faculty of Art and Design at PUCP in Lima.

Collection concept

Urpus were ceramic vessels from the Inca world, known for their voluminous bodies and conical bases, which allowed them to be anchored into the ground for stability. They were used to store and transport liquids such as water or chicha. This form inspires the collection, using the conical base as the starting point for each piece. These vessels also represented dualities, from which the Sun and Moon emerge, expressed in forms and materials: gold evokes energy, silver its cycles. Solar rays and lunar rings reinforce the collection’s symbolic strength.
