Melinna Elizondo - Mexico
Melinna Elizondo
Designer biography:
For the past five years, Mexican contemporary jeweler Mey Elizondo has dissolved the boundaries between engineering, technology, and art. Fusing her roots in the tech industry with her formal jewelry training, she orchestrates the subtle integration of unseen technology into visible metal. Her creations are free from exposed cables or harsh circuitry; instead, art remains the undisputed protagonist, with technology acting as its silent, poetic companion. Beyond mechanics, her pieces carry a profound narrative: the journey of the outsider who preserved her authentic identity and forged a home of her own.
Collection concept
From Matter to the Unseen chronicles the evolution of my artistic identity: the elegant integration of the invisible tech into the visible jewel. It embraces both sides of who I am—the tech engineer and the jewelry artist. This journey begins in solid matter with a gold ring anchoring binary code. It flows into the digital realm via a mother-of-pearl QR brooch unlocking AR, and a kite sheltering a delicate hologram. Ultimately, it transcends gravity through two magnetically levitating pieces. Tracing my path from earthly weight to ethereal motion, this collection proves that two distinct worlds can beautifully converge and find their shared place.
