Roberta Risolo - Italy
Roberta Risolo
Designer biography:
Roberta Risolo is a jewellery artist from Otranto, in the heart of Salento, who has been developing a creative language deeply rooted in her homeland for over twenty years. Her passion for goldsmithing takes her to Vicenza, the historic capital of Italian jewellery art, where she deepens her training through specialist courses and collaborates with prestigious companies in the sector. Enriched by the experience she gained, she chooses to return to Puglia to establish her own atelier. In 2013, she attended the Advanced Training Course TAM (sculpture), a renowned Centre of Excellence chaired by Arnaldo Pomodoro, and she was also commissioned to create the Commemorative Medals on the occasion of the Canonization of the Martyrs of Otranto, since 2014 she has combined her production work with teaching activities.
Through her entirely handcrafted creations, she gives life to an authentic narrative that blends shapes and inspirations drawn from the identity of her land: from the architecture of Otranto to the Lecce Baroque, from the decorations of Salento’s churches to the unmistakable Mediterranean nature. Her creations stand out for their skilful use of a wide range of materials: from noble metals to simple and “humble” materials such as Lecce stone and olive wood, reinterpreted with refined artistic sensitivity and transformed into precious objects that carry emotions.
Collection concept:
Collection Abbracci: an embrace can bring people closer, individual persons, and the most beautiful words are expressed in a simple gesture, primordial yet vital. The first jewel of this collection was created in 2013 for F-utili Gioielli for Emergency, an exhibition and charity auction, whose proceeds went to the Emergency association, at the Marino Marini Museum in Florence. The message I want to convey with these jewels is poetic: an embrace between peoples, a message of peace, so current.
