Kinga Olah
Designer biography:
Kinga Olah is a London-based contemporary jewellery artist and designer. She pursued postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art in London. Her practice explores the intimate relationship between jewellery and the body, creating opportunities for new perspectives and experiences through pieces that respond to physical presence and absence. In her distinctive, time-consuming technique, she delicately crushes gemstones, stripping them of their original form and reconstructing them into layers. This process results in an extraordinary surface texture and visual impact that evoke themes of chaos and rebirth. Kinga’s work has been showcased in several prestigious exhibitions and international showcases.
Collection concept:
Kinga's inspiration comes from the subtle, silent language of touch, that primal form of connection that shapes our earliest experiences and lingers in the memory of the skin. She endeavours to explore the unique potential of jewellery to metaphorically bridge the spatial and emotional distances between individuals, while preserving and sharing the imprints of our personal spaces, identities, and inner worlds. Her pieces thoughtfully explore and capture the body’s negative spaces and folds, transforming absence into compelling pieces of jewellery. Her creations - sculptural, exciting, yet delicate and sophisticated - form a quiet but powerful dialogue between the jewellery and the human body. They also serve as emotional bonds or memories, allowing us to physically manifest closeness and affection.
