Designer biography:
Sara Nazoor is a sustainable jewellery artist and mental health advocate from Sri Lanka. She works with discarded material, combining them with metals such as brass and copper to create wearable art. Her work explores the intersection of discarded material and emotional memories. Her work has been showcased at ARTWALK Sri Lanka (2015), the Accademia Riaci Competition in Italy (2016), Shilpa Saviya (mentor, 2017), Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Sri Lanka (2021, 2022), and the Roots Community Arts Festival (2023). Sara is an alumna of Regenerating a Creative Future (2022) and, in 2025, received the ACTED/EU Plastics Project award and took part in the Solidarities residency and exhibition in Nepal with Kaalo.101.
Collection concept:
What do I have to say? This collection questions the ability each of us has to speak the truth . The ability to understand the truth , the trauma and the reality. Each piece is made with discarded material combined with brass, depicts how the artist views this process of filtering and non filtering that happens through society and years of conditioning.
