ARNO CHEN

Biography:

Arno Chen is Chinese jewellery designer with a fashion design background and enjoys combining these two disciplines together as she explores her future creativity. Her works are focusing on expression of emotion by an interactable wearing method. Fabric is one of her favorite materials, she loves using stitching skills, also dyeing and weaving technology in her projects. Arno would like to use the interaction generated during the production and wearing process to provide space for the audience to think.

Collection Concept: Their Hands

In the current situation with COVID -19 we are often separated from our family and friends. People are forced into a worldwide lockdown and the distance is kept between not only neighbours but also countries. During this period, there was a lack of physical contact between people. This separation often leads to feelings of loneliness, anxiety and even mental issues. Arno aims to discuss and highlight the need for the touch and affection of those we love, she hopes her jewelry could explore a new method to fix the lack of psychological comfort.
